Engineering at Portage Learning is an agile team of full-stack developers with a passion for designing, building, testing, and maintaining software for internal and external users.
We are looking for back-end and front-end engineers (preferably with at least some experience in both areas) who love to learn and who have fun building team projects.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Participate in team discussions to architect and build modern applications.
Implement solutions to automate administrative tasks and to support our various applications (maintaining APIs between multiple platforms, website/web app development, database management, etc.
).
Test builds, analyze user feedback, and iterate quickly.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills Required:
Familiarity with back-end technologies such as Python and MySQL.
Experience working with and/or building APIs (REST, JSON, JWT is a bonus).
Experience with front-end technologies/frameworks (modern JavaScript, React, etc.
).
Familiarity with cloud platforms/architecture (AWS is a bonus).
Great problem-solving skills.
Passionate about his or her work.
Prefers correct over fast.
Understands the importance of automated testing.
Enjoys working in a team environment but is able to work autonomously as well.
Qualifications (Education Requirements/Experience):
An undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science or related field.
Several years of industry experience is a plus.
Demonstrated agreement with and vision for the stated mission, philosophy, values, and goals of Portage Learning.

Must be able to work from the office located in Chippewa Township, PA.
Travel:
This job requires occasional travel.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
