Log Truck Driver

*Summary*: The log truck driver is responsible for transporting logs and other forest products from the logging site to the mill or processing plant.
This involves driving a specially designed truck that can handle heavy loads and rough terrain.
Log truck drivers must have a commercial driver's license and extensive experience driving large trucks in difficult conditions.
*Responsibilities* * Transport logs and forest products from the logging site to the mill or processing plant * Inspect truck and trailer before and after each trip * Secure loads using chains, binders, and other equipment * Drive defensively and anticipate hazards on the road * Maintain accurate logs and records as required by state and federal regulations * Communicate effectively with dispatchers, other drivers, and mill personnel * Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures * Perform other duties as assigned *Qualifications* * Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements * 2+ years of experience driving large trucks, preferably in the logging industry * Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose and repair minor issues on the road * Excellent driving record with no major violations or accidents * Willingness to work long hours and in adverse weather conditions * Ability to read and interpret maps and driving directions *Physical Requirements* * Able to lift and carry heavy objects up to 75 pounds * Able to climb in and out of cab and trailer multiple times per day * Able to sit for extended periods of time while driving * Able to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold Job Type: Full-time Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Employee discount * Health insurance * Health savings account * Paid time off * Referral program * Tuition reimbursement * Vision insurance Supplemental pay types: * Bonus opportunities Trucking driver type: * Company driver Trucking home time: * Home daily * Home weekends Trucking route: * Local Experience: * Truck driving: 5 years (Preferred) Ability to Commute: * Vienna, OH 44473 (Required) Work Location: In person
