We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic professional voice instructor to add to our amazing teaching team!
An applicant to this position must also be familiar with a little bit of Piano/Music Theory and youth Ukulele (elementary methods).
Those applying for this position must be comfortable teaching individual students of varying ages (5+ through adult) and proficiency levels - in a music store studio setting.
Applicant must have knowledge of singing, music reading, music theory and various styles of repertoire, be familiar with Elementary Piano Method/Note reading, and be comfortable instructing limited youth Ukulele method.
A person applying for this job must have availability on a Tuesday between 3pm and 8pm, Friday afternoons as early as 4pm to 6:30pm, and Saturday mornings between 9:30am and 12:00 noon - and/or with an option to "add-in" other times to increase your teaching load, to be discussed and arranged.
Applicants for this position MUST pass a criminal background check (no exceptions).
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual voice instruction, beginner piano instruction, elementary youth ukulele instruction to students of varying ages and proficiency levels (in-store, or on location as instructor for our Online Music Lesson Academy).
- Create a positive learning environment for students
- Develop lesson plans that meet the needs of each individual student ( with a focus on music literacy as the standard)
- Provide individualized instruction to meet the needs of each student
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians as needed
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff when we coordinate our annual winter recital performance
- Maintain a safe and clean lesson studio environment
Requirements:
- Experience working with students of various ages and skill levels
- Strong Knowledge of Music, as well as an understanding of general development principles and early childhood education techniques
- Proficiency in vocal music
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with children
