NEW OAPSE BARGAINING UNIT POSITION
Contract Hours/Days: 5.
75-hours per day; school calendar plus four (4) days
Report Times: 7:30 am to 1:15 pm
Salary: $14.
26 starting hourly rate with annual step increases in accordance with the OAPSE negotiated agreement.
Contract Benefits: accumulated paid sick time, three (3) paid personal days per school year, paid holidays and calamity days
Reports To: Building Principals and Special Education Director
Evaluations: Performance evaluated annually in accordance with the OAPSE negotiated agreement
PLEASE NOTE:
Due to the specific demands of the position a 20-day probation period will be implemented regardless of the same classification transfer; following the probationary period the CSP will not be permitted to transfer into any new position until a substitute or replacement is found in accordance with the negotiated agreement.
Duties and Responsibilities: (See Administrator for specific details of assignment)
Monitor student(s) individually, in small or large groups in a variety of circumstances relating to the school environment
Lifting, stabilizing, and assisting student(s) in accordance with IEP, 504, or medical action plans
Assist with special care of students such as toileting, personal hygiene, seizures, recess, and lunch
Maintain a high level of confidentiality
Provide leadership by enforcing pupil behavior set forth by the building principal
Ensure the student are in a safe, secure environment at all times
Employ a variety of strategies to manage student behavior and conflict
Assist in classroom management duties including small group instruction
Must possess technology skills to assist the student with assistive technology
Subject to all applicable laws, essential job functions of the position include the employee being punctual and capable of completing all of the duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
All other duties consistent with the general job description as assigned by the Building Administrators, Superintendent, or designee

Current favorable BCII (State) and FBI (Federal) background checks
Ohio Educational Aide Permit with ESEA endorsement
Negative drug screen
Employees must follow all board policies, all state, and federal laws, and adhere to the Ohio Code of Ethics set up by the Ohio Department of Education.
