Job Corps is a government-funded, no cost education and vocational training program administered by the U.
S.
Department of Labor that helps socioeconomically disadvantaged youth between the ages of 16-24 improve the quality of their lives through academic and career technical training.
Job Corps' mission is to attract eligible young people, teach them the skills they need to become employable and independent, and place them in meaningful jobs or further education.
Job Summary
Reports to the College Administrator.
Responsible for counseling students in all aspects of college training program.
Will be working primarily in the New Castle area.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, including 15 hours of instruction in Social Services or related area.
One year of experience in counseling or related field.
Prefer Job Corps experience.
Valid State driver’s license in the state of employment with acceptable driving record.
Monitors students’ progress, performance and attendance for off-center program.
Obtains required Training Achievement Records and Progress and Performance Reports from off-center training sites.
Monitors each vocational class on a weekly basis, conferring with instructors, counselors, and administrators as appropriate.
Promotes awareness of Job Corp's College program offerings by publishing relevant items in the dorm agenda and maximizing trade enrollment.
Schedules students meeting entry requirements into vocational training.
Meets with individual students to discuss entry into the completion of vocational training.
Delivers vocational trades presentation during student orientation.
Assists in the screening, registration and enrollment of students into off/on-center training programs.
