Summary of Position To teach part-time, Middle Childhood Education courses.
Teaching opportunities will be based on need each semester.
Courses availability may include the following: TEMC 3702 Teaching & Learning in Middle Schools, TEMC 3703 Thematic Instruction and Assessment Methods in Social Studies, TEMC 3704 Teaching Mathematics in the Middle School, TEMC 3705 The Teaching of Science in the Middle School, TEMC 3706 Teaching Language Arts in the Middle School, TEMC 3707 Science/Technology/Society, TEMC 4801 The Middle School Learning Community, TEMC 4804 Middle-Level Instructional Design and Student Outcomes.
Responsibilities include teaching courses according to the approved syllabus, holding weekly office hours, grading all course projects and exams, and submitting final grades on the YSU Banner System.
Willingness to teach on-campus, off-campus, distance learning, and/or hybrid courses.
Ability to work with diverse populations.

Qualifications and Competencies Minimum Qualifications: At least a Master’s Degree in Education.
Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in grades 4-9 and hold a current teaching license in either grades 4-9 or grades 1-8.
Expertise in one or more content areas: math, science, social studies, language arts.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Terminal degree.
College teaching experience or College Credit Plus certification.
Understanding of the accreditation process.
Knowledge of technology as used in teaching.
