What is the MOSQUITO CONTROL METHOD?
It is a series of affordable treatments designed to exterminate the mosquito population before they begin to breed in the Spring, followed by monthly applications which will keep any new mosquitoes at bay.
Starting in late April or early May when the little buggers are just starting to breed, we apply a larvicide spray.
This works by killing mosquito larvae before they can grow into adults.
During this visit we also apply “mosquito dunks” to any applicable standing water (a breeding ground for mosquitoes).
As the dunk dissolves, it releases a bacterium which is toxic to all species of mosquito larvae.
Dunks are effective in any standing water including fish ponds.
They are harmless to fish and pond vegetation.
From that point, we return every 30 days to apply misting treatments.
These applications utilize a compound that is harmless to pets and humans but very bad news for mosquitoes.
The product is delivered up into trees and vegetation using a powerful sprayer that carries 35 feet or more.
Mosquitoes feed on plant & leaf juices.
When not attacking you in your backyard, they reside on the leaves of plants, bushes, and trees.
We spray the top and underside of the leaves which kills the critters on contact and leaves a residual that repels them from returning for about 30 days.
ALSO EFFECTIVE ON ANTS, TICKS, FLEAS, & SPIDERS.
The application process does not produce an unpleasant odor.
In an abundance of caution, kids, pets and animals should be kept indoors or away from the application area for 30 minutes.
The compound is relatively waterproof and we will schedule the application for times that allow at least six hours of dry weather after applying.
