Track Operations Manager
Summary of Duties:
The Track Operations Manager is a hands-on position essential to the smooth running of track events on all racing surfaces, including the main track, karting track, and VDA.
This position is accountable for the preparation of the tracks confirming scheduling of Racetrack Flag Marshals, Control, Fire/Rescue, Gate, and Security staff, and delivering quality services during events.
Reporting Relationship: This position reports to the Director of Operations and works closely with other departments.
The Track Operations Manager has two direct reports, the Corners & Control Coordinator, and the Safety & Security Coordinator.
Working Conditions: The work will be conducted in both office and outdoor environments.
Exposure to inclement weather and noisy work conditions is to be expected.
Responsibilities: PIRC personnel work as a supportive and interdependent team.

Promote and facilitate a culture based on reputation, respect, integrity, and dependability.
Supervise the hiring, training, and scheduling of seasonal personnel for Racetrack Flag Marshal, Control, Fire/Safety, Security, and Gate roles.
Confirm adequate scheduling of outside services (EMS, Tow, etc.
) for events.
Ensure track activity is accurately recorded, and event reports are complete and timely.
Conduct track inspections, complete reporting, and monitor corrective actions to completion.
Coordinate with Event Operations Manager to ensure tracks are staffed and prepared to meet client requirements.
Interact with clients as needed to deliver exceptional event experiences.
Oversee the management of Track Operations equipment, not limited to office staff vehicles, safety vehicles and equipment, 2-way radios, timing and scoring equipment, light, and camera systems, etc.
Coordinate with Facilities Management and the Director of Operations for maintenance of track surfaces.
Hold regular meetings with direct reports to review goals and ensure timely task completion.
Stay current on industry news, trends, applicable motorsport rule changes, and compliance issues, attend trade shows, car shows, and other job-related events as appropriate.
Serve as Manager-On-Duty (MOD), as assigned.
Requirements:
Broad knowledge of motorsports industry.
Proven management experience with strong communication skills (written and oral).
Highly organized with a disciplined attention to detail.
Capable of providing objective analysis of situations and formulating creative solutions.
Calmly react in challenging, time-critical situations and function well in a stressful environment.
Skilled in the use of common business software including MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Willing and able to serve in racetrack flag marshal, control, and timing & scoring roles.
Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time and lift at least 50 lbs.
Available to work a flexible schedule, including occasional irregular hours and weekends, during the peak season (April – October).
Valid driver’s license.
