Some of the Work You'll Do: Seek potential new clients and create prospecting points to best market B&M's capabilities to decision-makers.
Develop a deep network to sustain on-going business.
Prioritize developing, maintaining, and expanding relationships with current and new customers.
Identify industry trends and customer needs to create sales opportunities.
Use cold-calling and cold-emailing to secure new business conversations.
Build organizational skills to maintain a client base and ongoing outreach.
Identify customer needs to ensure satisfaction, as well as acquiring new relationships and leads while working with existing customers and vendors.
Sell total value in terms of quality, price, delivery, and service.
Employ creative approaches and methods to manage time independently and interact with the market.
Manage the sales pipeline and achieve annual revenue goals by engaging prospects throughout the steps of the sales cycle.
Review project bid documents to develop complete understanding of conditions and risks involved with bid, to ensure risks and conditions are considered when determining the amount of the proposal, based on costs provided by the estimating team.
Act as a liaison between departments within the company to help mesh the company's capabilities with customers' needs and ensure all accounts are properly addressed.
Monitor projects secured to achieve the company's financial goals while providing customer satisfaction.
Advise leadership when issues are identified that could potentially have a negative effect on either the project or long-term relationship with client(s) involved.
Coordinate with marketing with all activities concerning the company's public image including, but not limited to advertising, sponsorships, donations, website content, trade shows, and participation in social events.
Actively pursue and participate in outside associations, charities, etc.
that will enhance the company's public image both inside and outside the construction community.
Assist with strategic planning and setting strategic direction.
Assumes additional tasks assigned by senior management or which are logically inherent to this position.
Here's What You Need: Bachelor's Degree in Sales and Marketing, Business Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field Expert knowledge of design-build process, construction management and other general contracting practices 5+ years of experience in B2B sales in Engineering, Construction Management, and/or Business Development Heavy focus on Industrial, Utility and Electrical industries Understanding of Construction Project Estimating, Budgeting, Management, and Scheduling Understanding of Contract Law, Labor Law, and Union Agreements Strategic thinker Confident "go-getter" comfortable engaging with all levels of business professionals Strong prospecting, qualifying, proposing, negotiating, and closing skills Strong verbal and written communication skills; likes to talk to anyone and everyone Motivated by clear cut goals and thrives in a competitive environment Enjoys communicating via phone and can relate to everyone, while also being persuasive when needed.
