Rock Dining's Sustainability Intern will help promote our environmental efforts at public events and internal activities.
This position will focus on education and engagement surrounding these environmental efforts, outreach to the Slippery Rock community, and support in expanding new and existing sustainability practices.
Job Responsibilities
Internal
Update and distribute monthly sustainability materials and communications to campus dining locations
Conduct sustainability/waste audits and develop location competitions
External: Programming & Public Events
Create education and outreach materials as needed
Assist in planning for annual events
SRU Engagement and Outreach
Be a liaison with students and student sustainability organizations on campus to advance Rock Dining?s Sustainability initiatives
Research & Continual Development
Conduct research on sustainable dining programs across the region/country
Assist in development and management of sustainability metrics

Qualifications
Self-motivated/self-starter, flexible, pro-active, quick to learn
Currently enrolled at Slippery Rock University
Ability to multi-task with very good organizational skills and follow-through
Experience, knowledge and interest in sustainability, food service, and sustainable food issues
Comfortable interacting with others in various settings, one on one or in groups
Creative marketing skills
Microsoft Office Skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
