Job Summary:
The Hospital Liaison (HL) seeks new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships within the community and referral sources.
Responsible for the marketing of the hospitals and Outpatient Clinics.
Follow hospitals processes, generates referrals from the community, and works to convert referrals to admissions and maintain full census.
Provides input with planning, organizing, and executing the Business Departmental plan and marketing strategies.
Represents GBH Hospital System in a professional manner to families and to the public who are looking for psychiatric and chemical dependency services.
The Position is a direct representation of the hospital and direct line of communication to and from the hospital from the community.
Supervisory Responsibility: Supervises the following positions: None Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred/ Or 2+ years’ experience in Behavioral Health Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Social Worker preferred Marketing/sales skill expertise preferred Behavioral Healthcare experience preferred Key Responsibilities / Job Accountabilities: This HL will be required to travel 90% of the time which will involve traveling to multiple locations a day and covering a territory in multiple Counties across Ohio, and into PA and WV.
The HL will be responsible for building relationships in the communities with key steak holders whose patient base utilizes or has the protentional to utilize our IP/OP services.
Relationship building incudes but is not limited to: Frequent in person calls Setting up educations, luncheons, tours, and meetings Email communications and updates.
Making and responding to telephone calls.
The HL will be responsible for assisting with issues/concerns brought forth by external stake holds and working to resolve them.
This may include traveling to their sight, contacting them by phone/email, and working with internal departments to resolve everything to a satisfactory conclusion.
The HL will always represent themselves with the highest level of professionalism and customer service approach as the main representation of GBH in the community.
The HL is responsible for representing GBH’s partnership and involvement in the community including but not limited to: Involvement in community coalitions Involvement in community events, representing GBH with a table including collateral on our services.
Involvement with local MH and Addiction Boards, the Area Agency on Aging, and any other County or City Agencies who align with our mission to support MH and Addiction Treatment in the community.
HL will be required to be accessible to internal/external stake holds by phone and email M-F business hours at a minimum.
The HL will be efficient with basic computer programs including but not limited to Word, Excel and Outlook.
The HL will be trained on hospital computer systems and will be required to enter any documentation in a timely fashion.
The HL must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The HL must be comfortable with public speaking.
The HL will be responsible for assisting with Business Development Growth Plans and generating new business based on quarterly goals.
The HL will be responsible for being aware of the current hospital census and generating community referrals to meet minimum census requirements.
The HL will be responsible for being aware of Outpatient census and generating community referrals to meet minimum census requirements.
The HL will be responsible for completing any other duties as assigned by BD Manager, or any other GBH Leadership.
HL will be expected to work some weekend hours and some evening hours as required.
Additional Skills / Qualifications: Ambitious and enthusiastic individual who is self-motivated and determined to exceed budgeted census.
Ability to project a professional image.
Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSURES, REGISTRATIONS: RN, LPN, LSW, LISW or LISW-S.

ATTENDANCE: The HL is required to work a 40-hour week and be available and active in the community, available by phone, and available by email during normal business hours 8:00am – 4:00pm.
Must have some flexibility in scheduling and be willing to work some weekends, evening hours as required.
Holiday hours may be required with paid holiday time being taken on a flex day other than the actual holiday.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: English is the primary language of the facility.
Ability to read and write, communicate clearly with coworkers and customers and to respond to appropriate questions regarding work process or work product.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as appropriate to the position.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral and/or diagram form.
Ability to define and solve problems and collect data.
