What you'll do
Audit all departments to insure adequate and proper quality safeguards are in place.
Make decisions regarding disposition of non-standard product and use troubleshooting tools to solve quality problems in the plant and at customer locations
Manage and coordinate the Plant Quality Systems and Quality Group.
Solve quality problems in the plant
Implementation and Coordination of Plant SPC Program.
Maintain Gainseeker in Plant.
Troubleshoot SPC computer issues.
Interface with IT to maintain system
Investigate customer complaints and communicate customer needs to plant.
Continue to move responsibility of plant quality to operating departments
Responsible for Quality Budgets
Manage all Plant and Customer Supplier Audits
Train and support Quality Staff.
SPC training for hourly plant and salaried personnel
Maintain quality systems (gages, computers, software, etc.
)
Make Certificate of Analysis for finished products being shipped to customers that require them
Review and disposition of non-standard or suspect product in plant and/or at a customer’s location
Manage plant Continuous Improvement efforts.
Work with operations departments to decrease variability in processes and to reduce raw material usage.
Review plant SPC data for quality of data and quantity of data by shift and line.
Facilitate corrective action responses for customer complaints, insure correction action is implemented

What you'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum three (3) years related industrial experience
Knowledge of SPC, quality systems management, project management, knowledge of good manufacturing practices, SQF, computer proficiency (Windows, ERP systems, word processing/spreadsheets, etc.
), strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Post-graduate work in engineering or quality a plus
ASQC Certified Quality Manager or Quality Engineer
SQF Certification
Minimum of five (5) years related industrial experience in the packing industry
