com/careers Position Title: Drafter Reports To: Valve Engineering Manager Position Summary: Hunt Valve, a Fairbanks Morse Defense (FMD) company, has been manufacturing valves for naval customers for decades.
As the company continues to grow, it is in need of additional full time drafting support for the engineering and operations departments.
Additionally, this role would support modeling and drafting needs at other facilities in the FMD family of companies.
This position would directly support the engineering team in day-to-day activities to ensure work progresses on schedule and with high quality.
Hunt offers a unique working environment that allows a hands-on individual to develop and grow as the company expands its footprint and maintains high performance as a trusted defense contractor.
Essential Job Functions: • Generation of models and associated drawings for valve assemblies and sub-components.
• Interfacing with greater engineering team and operations personnel to ensure valid drawings are available for machining, assembly, as well as various vendor needs.
• Information management and data entry tasks associated with generation and tracking of new and revised drawings.
• Support in management and continuous improvement of existing policies and procedures associated with drafting functions.
Skills Desired: • Demonstrable experience with development of complex mechanical models as well as corresponding drawings based on input drawings.
• Highly motivated “self-starter” that is eager to put in work to help the organization be successful and to build their own career.
• Willingness to see problems and drive towards a solution without requiring instruction on a step-by-step basis.
• Proficiency in common drafting and modeling practices.
Knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and familiarity with ANSI drawing standards is a plus.
• Experience with fixturing and/or work holding is value-added.
Essential Job Requirements: • Associates of Science degree preferred • 1-5+ Years in a drafting and/or modeling position • Excellent professionalism and ethical behavior • Excellent organizational skills; detail-orientated and proactive in management of projects and tasks • Able to stand or sit for prolonged periods, and move about the facility • Prolonged periods of time on computer • Effective contributor both as an individual and as part of a project group • Must be able to communicate effectively in writing, by phone, and face-to-face.
• Need to be well-organized and able to self-manage on tasks to completion.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products and drafting/modeling knowledge.
• Familiarity with a mechanical / fabrication environment is a plus.
• Usual office working conditions with the mix of a production environment.
• Occasional travel possible Note: This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data.
Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship.
Acceptable proof of US Citizenship is a US Passport, US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.
