*SUMMARY* A Mechanical Engineer, or Facilities Mechanical Engineer, designs, builds and tests various mechanical devices, like industrial machines, transportation systems and robotics equipment.
Their main duties include locating problems with various machinery, conducting experiments to improve different product designs and using CAD technology to build product designs.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *Other duties may be assigned.
Primary – Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of failed solenoid and other types of control valves discovered during production and testing processes and defective product which have been returned from the field.
Identifies deficiencies in mechanical processes and developing improvements Prepares documentation of critical analysis and providing suggestions for correcting errors Secondary – Work within the Engineering department to design and develop inspection and testing procedures for all products produced by Spartan Scientific.
Design and build test fixtures and tooling to assist production and testing workers to improve productivity and quality.
Assist Engineering department in testing new product and prototypes.
Assist Incoming Inspection with any ancillary testing such as hardness, fatigue and burst testing along with recommending and selecting tools and tooling for conducting such tests.
Must be able to instruct, educate and work alongside fellow employees to continuously improve productivity and the quality of product.
Collaborating with Project Managers for proper allocation and tracking of resource *QUALIFICATIONS* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

*EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE* Mechanical Engineering Technology degree, two or four year.
Field experience is not required but is a plus.
Must be mechanically inclined and have some experience using hand tools such as wrenches, socket wrenches, torque drivers, pipe wrenches, etc.
Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic pumping systems is also a plus but not required.
Must have experience using CAD systems and 3D modeling and have the ability to create, read and interpret mechanical prints and schematics.
*LANGUAGE SKILLS* Must be fluent in technical terms related to the drafting field.
Must be able to interact on a professional level with fellow employees and supervisors and explain his/her position in detail.
*MATHEMATICAL SKILLS* Requires basic knowledge of algebraic, geometric and trigonometric functions.
Required to read and understand technical blueprints and verify size and scale factors.
*REASONING ABILITY* Derive solutions to various technical problems.
*CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS* High School Diploma (Required).
Technical School Diploma (Optional).
Collegiate Certificate or Diploma (Optional).
