Job Title: Industrial Engineer (Lean Focus)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for leading the company initiative for a continuous improvement culture.
This person will act as a central resource for lean manufacturing/continuous improvement and will assist with day-to-day production support and advances.
SUMMARY
This person is responsible for the managing and implementation of the company vision with regards to all activities for a lean production directive.
This includes productivity and safety advantages, workplace environment, and implementation of ideas.
A technical background combined with strong interpersonal management skills is needed.
This position will interact with all areas of the business.
This includes but is not limited to engineering, marketing/sales, production, and supply chain management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop principal work standards and workflow balancing for optimized productivity.
* Improve processes to achieve product quality, efficiency, and repeatability.
* Execute LEAN manufacturing techniques and thought processes.
* Optimize workflow and cell designs and introduce cost-effective automation for productivity and safety advantages.
* Understand Anthropometric and Ergonomic design criteria for improvement of work areas and processes to fit the employee safely.
* Work with manufacturing engineering to design machines and tools for new products or processes.
* Plan, execute and manage projects to completion with regards to continuous improvement.
* Develop and sustain employee training and development on lean concepts.
* Develop measurement systems supporting lean manufacturing directive.
* Perform value stream mapping exercises to determine business improvement areas.
* Develop and implement project plans to achieve a desired future state.
* Plan and monitor related budgets and capital spending objectives.
* Perform accurate ROI analysis for planned expenditures and be able to submit status reports to management for any approved related expenditures.
* Identify, track and execute cost reduction strategies for process improvements.
* Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management.

* Strong analytical & technical skills are needed for all product support activities.
* Multi-tasking skills are required to manage multiple projects and various project activities.
* Highly hands-on and strong mechanical aptitude needed.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
* A BS degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or equivalent is preferred.
* Minimum of 3 years with proven experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing initiatives in a production environment is preferred.
* Work experience with implementation of adaptable robotics/automation should be demonstrated.
* Certification in Lean Manufacturing is desired.
* Must be computer proficient.
The ability to use ACAD and Solid Works is ideal.
* Understanding of sheet metal fabrication preferred, but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $60,000.
