EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This is a comprehensive six-month trainee position that involves operating construction and maintenance equipment on highways.
This includes using plow attachments to remove snow from roadways and bridges during winter operations.
You will also operate loaders and other equipment and must become certified on at least two additional pieces of equipment during the probationary period.
You will also perform manual labor duties on a highway or bridge maintenance crew, such as flagging and traffic control.
You will receive training and certification to operate heavy construction equipment, including heavy trucks and loaders.
You will become proficient in pre- and post-operation checks, making necessary adjustments for safe operation, and minimizing wear.
Additionally, you will learn to use hand and foot controls, install and remove tire chains, and use various hand tools properly.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment.
Work hours are 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
