Silgan Closures, New Castle Plant is a major producer of bottle caps for the water, juice, and dairy industry.
The New Castle facility has maintained continuous operations in Neshannock Township for 25 years and is currently adding product lines and equipment to serve our customers across the country.
We are offering up to $16 an hour to highly motivated dependable employees to join our team on the production floor.
Starting rate is dependent on prior manufacturing experience and/or material handling or quality inspection skills.
Prior experience is not required for the entry level position, we will train you on the job.
Pay increases are awarded as you progress to material handling, utility or quality positions.
Primary Job Responsibilities for the Production Team Member
Preparing boxes to set on the automated turn table.
Monitoring the automated line to ensure that caps are properly feeding into the boxes.
Ensuring that the line(s) you are assigned to produces quality caps through periodic inspections.
Periodically re-threading labels, filling ink and liner and unjamming caps.
Informing maintenance of any mechanical problems with the line and informing the Quality Techs when a defect is identified.
Properly labeling the filled boxes and stacking them on the pallet.
Filled boxes weigh up to 32 pounds and are stacked 6-7 high on the pallet.

40-hour standard work weeks with availability to work overtime.
Assigned to a steady turn.
New hires have a choice (based on availability at time of hire) to work 4PM to midnight or Midnight to 8AM.
Transfer to day shift is available as openings occur and are awarded based on performance and dependability.
The New Castle plant runs operations 7 days a week, 3 shifts.
Normal weekly schedule is 6 days on 2 days off with two 3-day weekends in a row every 6 weeks.
22 days paid time off for vacation, holiday and personal days.

Physical Requirements
Frequent bending from the upright position to approximately a 35 degree angle
Standing during the shift while running your line with paid lunch and rest breaks throughout the shift.
Ability to frequently transport a box of product weighing between 15 and 35 lbs.
for a short distance from the line to stack on the pallet.
