As part of our evolving needs and in response to rapid growth, we currently have an opening for a full time Manufacturing Engineer.
This position will report to the Safety and Environmental Specialist/ Operations Engineer.
Job Summary:
Utilizing independent judgement, this position supports all existing manufacturing processes and supports engineering projects within the Ellwood Specialty Metals Group.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Observes all safety rules and regulations and meets all safety program requirements.
Ability to learn and understand operations, including material management and flow, shipping and receiving, production scheduling, contractor and vendor management, and customer satisfaction.
Supporting all existing manufacturing processes, including data collection and analysis for the Ellwood Specialty Metals Group.
Supporting operations, maintenance, and environmental, health, quality improvement and safety projects.
Support the evaluation, design, and implementation of project/improvement initiatives.
Draft documentation for updated process procedures, safety material, training material, etc.
Draft layouts of existing and potential floor spaces to optimize the manufacturing process.
Support costs savings initiatives to reduce operating expenses.
Be a leader in safety and develop/improve safety devices, procedures, and protocols.
Support quality improvement projects.
Travel as needed to support efforts within the Ellwood Specialty Metals Group, and to visit customers, and visit vendors if required.
Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
Qualifications / Experience
Minimum of 1-3 years experience in engineering preferred.
BS degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or equivalent is required
Strong safety focus/values
Experience in a manufacturing is preferred
CNC machine and programming experience preferred
Ability to read machining blueprints
Strong analytical skills
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft applications
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Well organized and detail oriented
Strong leadership and team-building skills
SolidWorks experience preferred (or other similar CAD software)
Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
Ability to work independently (self-starter)
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
Ability to work on a team or as an individual
