JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising the maintenance systems, preventative maintenance systems, as well as covering day to day plant operations as it relates to manufacturing activity.
This is a hands-on position that requires working on the production floor performing all necessary maintenance and installation duties.
Will be responsible for hourly maintenance staff and their activities.
This position will be key to improving an updating the processing department at the plant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversee and ensure all employees are properly trained in maintenance standards and processes
Maintain systems related to employee safety, environmental issues, and product quality
Work in conjunction with regional field managers to develop, implement, and maintain standardized recommended maintenance practices
Gathers quotes and ensures proper lead time for equipment and parts
Construction acumen to lead and maintain projects
Continuously improve processing equipment (automation)
Preventative maintenance program
Maintain monthly budgets
Maintain calibration of welding equipment
Manage outside vendors
Maintain all manufacturing equipment as well as all auxiliary equipment
Supervision of maintenance staff
All other duties as assign
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, & LICENSES:
Trade school training in electrical systems, hydraulics, metal fabrication or related field required
Minimum 7 plus years of experience in maintenance
Prior leadership experience required
Knowledge and understanding of 5S process
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance
Ability to understand written instructions
Knowledge of PLC’s
Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently
Good visual acuity
Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, (Intelex a plus)
Supervisory/Management skills
Ability to multi-task and be organized
Ability to make parts pick-ups and drop-offs as required
Average proficiency in mathematics
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment safely and efficiently
