KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and lead the multi-site (Youngstown, Houston & Muskogee) technology team, focusing on technical support for Vallourec Star Heat Treating, and resolve multi-discipline problems.
Maintain and improve standard procedures; train the process engineers and operators.
Reduce variations of key process indicators.
Lead the identification, development, and implementation of quality loops.
Lead Continuous Improvement Team(s).
Benchmark current processes and evaluate new technologies, processes and materials.
Use Manufacturing Process Control (MPC), Six Sigma and/or other advanced problem-solving techniques such as Design of Experiments, process capability, SPC and FMEA to isolate and reduce sources of variation and resolve production and quality issues.
Develop and implement root cause analysis and corrective action of non-conformance to mitigate rework, reduce cost and improve quality.
Build technical capabilities by identifying and presenting Capital Expenditure Projects for multiple locations to support Vallourec Star strategy.
Coordinate project activities with Vallourec Process Communities, Vallourec R&D centers, external research organizations and universities.
Promote effective communication vertically and horizontally within the organization.
Robust and safe furnace operation with a continuous reduction of CO2
Lead projects which are linked with the responsible processes and equipment.
Build targets, Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and report the results of the corresponding actions.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
educational requirement is BS or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering/Material Science.
5+ years of pipe/steel industry experience is preferred or relevant experience in a related industry.
Higher Education (M.
Sc.
or Ph.
D.
) is preferred.

Ideal: System knowledge of furnaces, burners and refractories.
